10th February 2015. The team at Flagship is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories for work carried out on two very different client projects in 2014. It has been shortlisted for ‘Tactical Media Relations’ for the launch of Norwegian Getaway for Norwegian Cruise Line and for ‘Social Media’ for the work on the #wightlive campaign for Wightlink Ferries.
This is the second time Flagship has been nominated for its work with Norwegian Cruise Line, which has been a longstanding client. The Getaway launch was of particular note as it married a “trade first” campaign, focusing very much on travel agents (the main bookers of cruises) whilst also raising wider consumer awareness through carefully stage-managed media “moments” using celebrities such as Jennifer Ellison and Jo Wheatley.
The campaign was closely tied to commercial objectives, which were to be Norwegian’s main measure of success. Flagship beat these by every measure – including conversion rates for agents selling “try before you buy” packages and double digit growth was reported on sales across all of Norwegian’s fleet over the launch period.

Wightlink Ferries is a relatively new Flagship client starting in March 2014. From the outset Flagship has focused on raising Wightlink’s social profile as well as working with more traditional media. The #wightlive campaign was created to make a real impact for Wightlink, to raise its social media followers and engagement and to create a strong online personality for the company.
#wightlive was a way of uniting the host of festivals which run on the Isle of Wight during the summer months – the two key festivals being Isle of Wight Festival and Bestival. There were many elements to the campaign which used photo sharing, competitions, hash tags, bloggers and more to bring it all to life. As with Getaway, results exceeded expectations. Social followers grew by 155% over the summer months, over 2000 people entered the photo competition, and #wightlive was used over 10,000 times. The success of the campaign has resulted in it being planned to run again in summer 2015.

“We are delighted to be shortlisted for two awards at this year’s ceremony,” comments Jackie Murphy, CEO of Flagship Consulting. It is particularly pleasing that the awards represent work we have done for one of our longest standing and one of our newest clients. Both show the hard work, creativity and effort of our teams. But they also show that true success comes when we work hand in hand with our clients, both pushing each other to achieve results well beyond those expected.”
